Job Description

We’re looking for an Associate to join our Shanghai studio—a talented Landscape Architect who’s ready to lead small-to-medium projects, guide teams, and help shape places that improve how we live, work and connect.

This role is focused on leading high-quality landscape and urban design projects across commercial, cultural, and mixed-use precincts in China and the broader region. You’ll collaborate across disciplines, contribute to winning work, and bring a clear design point of view backed by built experience.

You’ll play a key leadership role in our practice by:

• Leading small to mid-sized project teams and initiatives—managing scope, design quality and commercial performance

• Developing client relationships, contributing to bids and proposals, and supporting business development

• Acting as a trusted professional, guiding projects from early strategy through to detailed design and delivery

• Supporting the growth of others—mentoring team members and creating development opportunities

Qualifications

You have 10+ years of experience in landscape architecture across a range of sectors, with strong project leadership skills and a solid understanding of both design quality and delivery.

You’re someone who:

• Brings a clear design voice—communicating ideas with clarity and creativity

• Has a track record of built work aligned to high-quality, sustainable design thinking

• Thinks strategically, engaging diverse perspectives to shape project outcomes

• Understands the balance between technical excellence and design ambition

• Enjoys leading, mentoring and enabling others to grow

• Thrives in collaborative teams, contributing to a positive and productive studio culture

• Communicates confidently with clients and stakeholders—adapting to their needs, building trust and delivering with impact

• Is commercially minded, keeping projects on track and helping identify future opportunities

Bonus if you’re bilingual in English and Mandarin.

You’ll have experience with tools like Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, BIM, and other 3D and documentation platforms.

Job Description

As a Senior Associate, you’ll be a key leader in our practice — shaping both projects and people. You’ll play a hands-on role in:

• Leading medium to large-scale design projects, guiding them from strategy through to delivery

• Creating design clarity across complex briefs and collaborating with clients to drive high-impact outcomes

• Building and nurturing client relationships, developing new business opportunities, and helping win work

• Mentoring and developing talent within the studio—coaching others, sharing knowledge, and helping grow future leaders

• Contributing to the commercial performance of our projects and studio, ensuring design and business goals are aligned

• Role-modelling design leadership, championing sustainable, inclusive and innovative design approaches

Qualifications

You^re an experienced and confident design professional with 12+ years in landscape architecture, urban design or planning—someone who can lead large-scale projects and bring people together around a shared vision.

You’ll stand out for your ability to:

• Translate design ideas into outcomes with impact

• Guide projects across design quality, budget, timeline and delivery

• Lead and mentor teams in a collaborative, inclusive way

• Balance creative thinking with commercial outcomes

• Communicate effectively with clients and partners—ideally in both English and Mandarin (preferred, not essential)

• Work confidently across design tools such as Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and others

• Bachelor Degree, or higher qualification, in Landscape Architecture.
