新年伊始, 展望2021年即将建成的建筑，世界最具影响力的建筑设计网站ArchDaily和Dezeen都公布了各自的期待。我们的两个公共文化项目——“深圳东部环保发电厂”和“上海图书馆东馆” 入选！

With the arrival of 2021, Dezeen and ArchDaily – two of the most renowned online architectural platforms have revealed their most anticipated buildings expected in 2021, highlighting our "Shenzhen East Waste-to-Energy Plant" and "Shanghai Library East" .

 Dezeen之选 —— “深圳东部环保发电厂” 

 Dezeen’s Selection — "Shenzhen East Waste-to-Energy Plant" 

面对日益严峻的环境问题，可持续性已经成为全球的共识，作为人类社会的服务者，建筑师们积极履行社会责任。

Sustainability has become a global consensus with the increasingly severe environmental problems. As one of the professions that serve human society, architects must actively undertake these social responsibilities.

我们与Gottlieb Paludan建筑事务所合作设计的深圳东部环保发电厂，建成后即将成为全球最大的环保发电厂。它不仅能够变废为宝，为深圳当地居民提供服务；在还将在城市层面承担公众科普教育的职责。

Our team, partnered with Gottlieb Paludan, designed the largest waste-to-energy plant in the world, Shenzhen East Waste-to-Energy Plant. Not only is the project a public facility to turn waste into energy it also plays a role in the education and awareness at a city level towards reducing waste. 

我们打造了一个模糊了建筑与自然边界的景观公园，吸引市民来到这里，直观感受人类当前正在面临的巨大挑战，进而学习如何减少产生垃圾。

A park blurs the boundary between the architecture and natural landscape, attracting visitors to engage with the project, to learn about saving waste and experience the scale of the current challenge. 

“最近几年，我们一直在尝试重新定义可持续性，把它作为一个交点，将其整合成为一个更大更有意义的整体——这是一种我们称之为“生态设计”的哲学。”SHL建筑事务所设计总监、合伙人Chris Hardie说道：“通过将可持续性、可适应性、再生、包容和幸福感无缝融入我们的每个项目中，我们可以帮助维持地球生命直到更久。我们的地球正处于关键时刻，每个人都应该发挥作用来共同保护我们的家园。

“We have moved on from talking singularly about sustainability, the issues are too far reaching, and sustainability alone is not enough anymore. For the last few years, we have been redefining sustainability as one of several interconnected parts of a greater, more meaningful whole. It is a philosophy we call Living Design.” says Chris Hardie, design principal and partner of SHL, “by seamlessly incorporating sustainability, resilience, regeneration, inclusion, and well-being into everything we design – our goal must be to help sustain life on earth. We are at a crux in the state of our planet and we all need to play a role in protecting it.”

Over the past 30 years, SHL has designed more than 30 libraries around the world. A library is not only a space for physical collection, but importantly a space to come together and connect; a space for the community. A library should encourage social gatherings, chance encounters, and inspire us. The latest libraries are combining new programs from exhibition, performance, and community functions, bringing visitors a new unprecedented experience and understanding of our place in the world.

“上海图书馆对未来新馆有一个宏伟的愿景是——新的图书馆必须是一个激励、学习、交际和创造的空间。在整个设计进程中，我们始终遵循着SHL理想中图书馆应该有的目标和信念—— 打造一座创造交流联系、开放包容并且以人为本的空间。我们希望通过设计，将图书馆营造成上海市民的第二个家。”

“The Shanghai Library client had a vision for the library– the future of the library should be an inspiring space, a space for learning, a space for exchange and a space for creation. Throughout the design we have followed these goals and beliefs in what we believe library should be, that a library should focus on people and create spaces that are interconnected and inclusive. The aim is to create a second home for the citizens of Shanghai.”
