直向建筑创始人/主持建筑师董功受邀担任2021 LEXUS雷克萨斯全球设计大奖评审团成员，将于4月12日参与总决赛评审。另外三名评审团成员分别为：建筑师 / 机器人技术公司“PIAGGIO FAST FORWARD”首席执行官格雷戈·林恩（Greg Lynn）、丰田与雷克萨斯全球设计主管西蒙·汉弗莱斯（Simon Humphries）和纽约现代艺术博物馆（MoMA）建筑与设计部资深策展人保拉·安特那利（Paola Antonelli）。

LEXUS雷克萨斯全球设计大奖已连续举办九届，旨在培养和扶持下一代新锐设计师。评审团将根据“预见”（Anticipate）、“创新”（Innovate）和“吸引”（Captivate）这三大设计准则进行决赛入围评选，甄选出有助于为人类社会构建更美好未来的创意设计理念。往届评审团成员有：伊东丰雄 (Toyo Ito)、坂茂 (Shigeru Ban)、珍妮·甘 (Jeanne Gang)、戴维·阿德迦耶爵士 (Sir David Adjaye)等。

此次大赛以“为更美好的明天设计”为主题，共收到了来自全球66个国家设计师提交的2,079项参赛作品。大赛评审团最终甄选出6项创新解决方案进入决赛，以下为入围决赛选手名单: Kenji Abe（日本）参赛作品：类细胞包装材质（CY-BO）、Gayle Lee（新西兰）和JessicaVea（汤加）参赛作品：心灵感应（Heartfelt）、Alina Holovatiuk（乌克兰）参赛作品：节奏感无指手套（InTempo）、Irmandy Wicaksono（印度尼西亚）参赛作品：KnitX（X编织系列）、Henry Glogau（新西兰和奥地利双国籍）参赛作品：太阳能海水淡化照明体（Solar Desalination Skylight）、Intsui设计团队（中国）参赛作品：陶瓦风之谷（Terracotta Valley Wind）。入围决赛的6项作品在设计、材料及应用上展现出了他们的创造性、原创性以及独特性。特别在设计理念上有预见性的满足来自于不同用户的各种需求，并通过新颖的形式，提出富有想象力的解决方案。本次大赛同样也邀请来自全球设计界知名导师对他们的作品提出专业性指导意见，导师分别是：乔·杜塞特（Joe Doucet）、萨宾·马塞里斯（Sabine Marcelis）、马里亚姆·卡马拉（Mariam Kamara）和Sputniko!.

The design theme of this year is "design for a better tomorrow", and the competition received 2079 entries from designers from 66 countries around the world, with the competition jury selecting 6 innovative solutions to reach the finals. the finalists are Kenji Abe (Japan), "CY-BO"; Gayle Lee (New Zeeland) and Jessica Vea  (Tonga), "Heartfelt-Hero"; Alina Holovatiuk (Ukraine), "InTempo"; Irmandy Wicaksono, "KnitX"  Henry Glogau, (New Zeeland and Austria), "Solar Desalination Skylight"; Intsui (China), "Terracotta Wind Valley". These Finalists were selected for their original and inventive solutions which highlight the creative interplay between design and technology. The finalists'concepts and designs feature a diverse range of innovative craftsmanship techniques, materials and applications. This year's cohort of mentors include Joe Doucet, Sabine Macelis, Mariam Kamara and Sputniko!.
