▲ 荟同校园基地与周边关系 苏州荟同学校坐落于苏州高铁新城区中心位置,占地7.5公顷。从上海乘坐高铁只需19分钟即可抵达,这所建筑面积为119, 000平方米的寄宿制学校,将容纳从幼儿园至高中(12年级)的2, 500名学生,充分地展现了荟同学校“学习无时不刻,无处不在”的理念。该校园包括3栋院落风格的教学楼;一栋共享社区建筑,有表演艺术中心、管弦乐队及合奏室、体育中心和游泳馆;及一栋可容纳1,000名学生的宿舍楼。这所领先的新学校设计按LEED学校银级认证及中国绿建二星标准建造,将成为亚洲设施最高端的寄宿学校之一。 Whittle School and Studios Suzhou Campus is beautifully situated on a gracious 7.5 ha waterfront site in the heart of the new high-speed rail new town district. Only a 19-minute-high speed rail ride from Shanghai, the new purpose-built 119,000sm facility will accommodate 2,500 students from grades Pre-K through 12 in a boarding school environment that supports the Whittle philosophy, “learning happens any place all the time”. The new facility is comprised of several courtyard-style academic buildings, a shared community bar building housing a performing arts center, orchestra and ensemble rooms, a sports center, natatorium and a student residence for 1000 students. Designed to meet a LEED for Schools Silver benchmark and China Greenstar (two star) requirements, the new state-of- the-art campus is poised to become one of the premier boarding school campuses in Asia.

The site is bordered on the east and south by a new waterway/canal, a secondary access road on the north and a highway and green buffer to the west. These conditions set up a natural site dichotomy dividing the site into two zones, a boisterous/active/sports/living zone along the highway edge and a serene/contemplative/ academic zone along the canal’s edge. Taking a kit of parts approach: 1.根据学术功能,学校被划分为三栋不同的教学楼——幼儿园、小学和初中/高中——沿着南北轴线展开,并沿着运河依次错落排列,便于优化日照及扩大视野。Academic functions are distributed divisionally into three distinct academic pavilions or Learning Lanterns - early learning center, elementary school, and middle/high school - organized along the north-south axis and arrayed along the canal to optimize daylight access and views. 2.表演艺术中心及体育馆位于两个区域南北轴线上的共享社区另一边建筑内,在运动场及学术区之间形成缓冲区。The performing arts and sports facilities are accommodated in a Shared Community Bar building along the north- south axis between the two zones, forming a buffer between sports fields and the academic zone. 3.核心社区空间屋顶的景观,连接学术楼与体育馆,与整体景观设计连为一体。A one story Landscaped Plinth containing the heart of school and core community spaces connects the pavilions to the sports bar in one integrated design. 4.学生宿舍楼沿着运河布置,位于校园北部更私密的一端,在体育馆及表演 艺术中心延长线上。The Student Dormitory tower is placed along the canal edge at the more private end of the main north–south campus axis as a counterpoint to the horizontal sports and performing arts center bar. The main gate of the campus is located at the north public end of the axis.
▲ 场地设计分析 ▲ 功能轴测分析图 Exterior Façade Design外立面设计 ▲ 立面文化背景 建筑设计灵感源于历史悠久的苏州建筑中的传统中国门窗元素,打造了充满现代感的校园。为了营造有凝聚力的环境,同时为每栋建筑提供各自特征和辨识度,基于特定功能开发了高强混凝土隔板或遮阳板。根据采光需求、眩光控制、内部布局隐秘性、外立面导向及预算,隔板的设计稍有不同。学术楼、体育馆及宿舍的形态即有识别度,又有整体性。虽然大楼设计了全空调系统,按需求设置的可开启扇与幕墙融为一体,并带来自然通风。The timeless architecture of the design draws inspiration from the traditional Chinese screen element found in historic Suzhou architecture, but designed for a modern forward-looking campus. To create a cohesive campus, while providing distinction and identity for the various components, a language of high-tech screens or brise-soleil have been developed based on the specific function. Depending on daylighting needs, glare control, internal layout privacy, façade orientation and budgetary considerations, the design of the screens vary. Academic pavilions are clad in one type, the sports bar in another and the dorms in yet another, giving them functionality and identity but coming together as a family. While fully air-conditioned, operable windows are integrated into the insulated low-e glazing curtainwall system to meet the natural ventilation goals of the project. ▲ 立面构造分析 ▲ 内庭院立面 连接建筑的风雨连廊为师生提供了全天候舒适的步行条件,同时与建筑和景观形成互动,在地面上提供了多层次的人性化的尺度空间。 At the ground level, a series of one story loggia provide a covered path for students to circumnavigate the campus, while interacting with the architecture and landscape.
