润唐学校设计旨在应对数字时代教育所面临的挑战,通过创建高度互联的空间来促进社交和情感健康,同时激发学习的内在动力。以“棱镜”为概念,校园建筑令光线在相互连接、动态转换的空间中折射与流动,为多样化的学科领域和不同年龄塑造了独特的学习社区。
Runtang School is designed in response to the educational challenges of the digital era by creating highly connected spaces that foster social and emotional wellness while inspiring an intrinsic motivation for learning. Conceptualized as a series of prisms, the campus architecture enables light to refract and travel across interconnected, transformative spaces, shaping distinct learning communities for diverse academic disciplines and age groups.

开放而充满趣味的环境从室内自然延伸到室外,促进学生与同伴面对面地互动,有效平衡了在虚拟世界中的过度沉浸。这些棱镜般的空间高度具有高度的包容性和适应性,能够支持日新月异的教学法和新兴课程,反映了人工智能所驱动的知识获取方式多渠道、非线性的特征。这些貌似无用的区域摆脱了预设功能的限制,促进独立学习、协作学习以及创新探索,使学生能够随时随地利用量身定制的数字化工具进行学习。沐浴在灿烂的阳光里,润唐学校建筑象征着一段平衡自然、技术和人类智慧的启蒙之旅。

Effortlessly extending from indoor to outdoor settings, these open, playful environments promote in-person engagement with peers, counterbalancing the excessive immersion in virtual worlds. Highly inclusive and adaptable, these prism-like spaces support rapidly evolving pedagogies and emerging curricula, reflecting the multi-channel, non-linear nature of AI-driven knowledge acquisition. Free from pre-defined functions, the seemingly useless areas facilitate both independent and collaborative study and innovative exploration, enabling students to learn anytime, anywhere, with digital tools tailored to their needs. Bathed in brilliant sunlight, the architecture of Runtang School symbolizes a journey of enlightenment that harmonizes nature, technology, and human intelligence.

一个校园,两个学校
One campus two schools
润唐学校位于唐山万科未来城的核心区域,周围以高密度大型居住社区为主。设计招收一到九年级共2880名学生。尽管城市规划将小学和中学划分在两个独立地块里,但总体规划旨在设计一个校园。将小学和中学整合为一个校园的关键是位于校园中央的“活力中心”。这个高度共享的设施汇集了餐厅、宿舍、体育馆、剧场和表演艺术空间,犹如发电厂一样,将能量输送到南北两端的小学和初中教学楼。两个操场被三栋建筑环绕,确保不同年龄段的学生拥有安全独立的游乐区,并营造以运动为中心的社区氛围。

The Runtang School is located in the core area of Vanke Future City in Tangshan, surrounded primarily by high-density residential communities. It is designed to enroll 2,880 students from Grades 1 to 9. Despite two separate parcels of land in zoning, the master plan is determined to create one campus. The glue to integrate the Elementary School and the Middle School into one unified campus is the “Energy Center” positioned centrally on the campus. This highly shared facility houses the cafeteria, dormitories, gymnasium, theater, and performing arts spaces, and like a power plant, transmits energy to the Elementary School Building and the Middle School Building at the south and north ends. Two sports fields are surrounded by the three buildings, preventing collisions during activities, ensuring safe, independent playgrounds for different ages and creating a sports-centered community.

活力中心
Energy Center
活力中心的平台充当了中学操场的超级看台,并一览无余地眺望东面的城市公园。剧场观众厅的倾斜地面下方形成了引人注目的室外空间,加之不锈钢饰面,成为一个戏剧性的视觉焦点和令人难忘的聚会和拍照场景。
The Energy Center includes a wide podium as a grandstand for the Middle School sports field, offering an unobstructed view of the city park to the east. A striking outdoor space formed underneath the inclined floor of the theater audience hall, highlighted with its stainless-steel cladding, becomes a dramatic focal point and memorable setting for gatherings and photos.

活力中心开启了“生活+学习”的新型模式,将音乐、美食、运动、社交、住宿融为一体, 为“全人”生活方式提供了完善的配套设施。

小学楼
Elementary School Building
小学教学楼捕捉了折射光的动态特性。四个双层高的中庭呈风车状螺旋排列,每个中庭连接两个楼层,并分别作为表演艺术、视觉艺术、室内体育和植物园等活动中心。
The Elementary School Building captures the dynamic nature of refracted light. Four double-height atriums are arranged in a windmill-like spiral, each connecting two floors and serving as an activity hub for performing arts, visual arts, indoor sports, and botanical gardens, respectively.

每个中庭与相邻的教室相结合,形成了为低年龄段学生量身打造的主题学习社区。错落的布局令光线从不同方向进入室内,为跨学科教育环境赋予了互动感和凝聚力。
The atriums, integrated with adjacent classrooms, create themed learning communities tailored to young students. The staggered layout introduces sunlight from various orientations, imparting a sense of interactivity and cohesion to the interdisciplinary educational environment.

Drawn from the spectrum of light, the vibrant interior colors traverse, extend, and diffuse throughout the buildings, embodying the design philosophy that where light flows, learning follows.

中学楼
Middle School Building
中学教学楼三层的图书馆和STEAM实验室是整个建筑的首要资源中心。基于这一平台,两个错落的中庭向上和向下延伸,便于通达到所有楼层。天窗和侧高窗为中庭提供自然采光,明亮的空间与周围教室共同构成了两个多层次的学术中心。两个中心相互连通,为交流、展示和表演创造了充分的机会,营造出灵活的跨学科学习环境。

The Middle School Building is anchored by a third-floor library and STEAM lab that serve as the primary resource hub for the entire structure. Two staggered atriums extend up and down from this platform, providing access across all floors. Skylights and clerestory windows bring natural light into the atriums, which, together with surrounding classrooms, shape two multi-level Academic Hubs. These interconnected hubs foster ample opportunities for communication, exhibitions, and performances, creating a versatile, interdisciplinary learning environment.

学术中心由画廊、科学实验室和多种学科学习空间组成,墙面和地面点缀着明亮的色块。这些色块是通过中庭开口投射出“色彩阴影”,滋养了学生们的好奇心、创造力、想象力和游戏精神。中庭连接到南北两侧的户外露台,提供校园的全景视野,并为建筑增添了动感的视觉元素。

The academic hubs consist of art galleries, science labs, and diverse subject learning spaces, complemented with bright color blocks on the walls and floors. These color blocks project “color shadows” from the atrium openings, nurturing students’ curiosity, creativity, imagination, and playful spirit. The atriums lead to outdoor terraces on both the north and south sides, offering panoramic campus views and adding dynamic visual elements to the architecture.

交通策略
VEHICULAR CIRCULATION STRATEGIES
为了提高安全性并尽量减少城市交通拥堵,校园西侧规划了一条“安全通道”,将学校车流与城市道路隔离。这条长338米的单向双车道为家长提供了指定的排队和安全上下车区域,同时方便后勤和员工车辆的停车。两栋教学楼因此得以免受机动车的干扰。

To enhance safety and minimize congestion in the city, a “Safety Passage” is planned on the campus’s west side, separating school traffic from the streets. This 338-meter-long, one-way, double-lane passage provides parents with designated queuing and safe drop-off and pick-up zones and facilitates service truck and staff parking. As a result, both academic buildings remain free from vehicular disturbances.

By integrating a scholarly atmosphere, artistic aesthetics, and seamless connections to surrounding residential neighborhoods, Runtang School delivers “12 years of high-quality public education to the doorstep,” empowering a newly built community with a visionary model of a “future school.”
