ad hoC咖啡店-回响:戏剧化的咖啡日常 | FLIP设计工作室

ad hoC咖啡店借着回响之声串起上海咖啡馆的过去未来。上世纪30年代的海派文化发源传播离不开一间间咖啡馆，旗袍、爵士乐还有张爱玲最爱的牛奶咖啡。咖啡馆之于上海而言早已成为了一种文化符号，它一方面是日常人们小憩交流的场所，同时，还承载着一场场戏剧化盛宴，它流动曼妙且无拘束，每一位食客与看客都是戏中人。

The ad hoC cafe ties the past and the future of Shanghai cafes with the sound of echoes. The origin and spread of Shanghai style culture in the 1930s was inseparable from the cafes, cheongsam dresses, jazz and Zhang Ailing’s favorite milk coffee. Café has long been a cultural symbol in Shanghai. It is a place for people to relax and have conversation, but it also can be the setting for drama and spectacle. The spectators are all in the play.

“念念回响”

‘Echo’

如果要在上海寻一处让人念念不忘之所，那一定是上海法租界。这里既有老上海的烟火风情，又有魔都的时髦新意。ad hoC 咖啡店便坐落在这里。步入让·努维尔设计的上海新天地的恒基旭辉天地，朱红色内街在夜幕降临的时候弥漫出一种浓郁戏剧的氛围，正是受这种非日常化的周边建筑的影响，ad hoC 咖啡店也充满了戏剧化吸引力。

If you want to find a place in Shanghai that you will never forget, it must be the French Concession of Shanghai. There you can find the flavor and excitement of old Shanghai along with the fashionable and innovative crowds of this magical city. The ad hoC cafe is located here. Walking around the Henderson Cihui Tiandi designed by Jean Nouvel in Xitiandi Shanghai, the vermilion inner street is filled with a rich and dramatic atmosphere especially after night falls. The coffee shop is influenced by this exceptional architecture, the ad hoC cafe shop is also full of dramatic appeal.

从努维尔的红色半室外中庭步入咖啡厅，绿白镶拼的马赛克大理石，将地面、长凳和吧台连为一体，熟悉的图案与光感肌理，都在追忆着老上海30年代充满文人情怀的咖啡历史。

Stepping into the cafe from Nouvel’s red semi-outdoor atrium, green and white mosaic marbles connect the ground, benches and bar counters as a whole. The familiar patterns and texture all recall the coffee history of the old Shanghai’s literati in the 1930s.

“光影隧道”

‘Tunnel of Light and Shadow’

一片片微水泥墙与吊顶在光影浸染洗涤下，相错包围，汇成一个隧道状空间，延伸到面前黑色的镜面中：暧昧，深邃，明暗变幻间呼唤着遥远的过去，映照着空间正中拥有神秘轮廓的铜片制成的金属雕塑。

Layers of suspended ceilings are washed by light and shadow, together forming a tunnel-like space that extends to the black mirror surface in back: an ambiguous, deep surface that calls the distant past, reflecting the mysterious contour of the metal sculpture assembled by copper sheets in the center of the space.

这个金属雕塑并不仅仅是一件艺术装置，它是艺术家 RJ Tripodi 为空间设计的一个特殊的“桌子”，称作“合唱”。在光影日常中这个装置就变成了空间的“hearth”（火炉），如同赖特在流水别墅正中央放置的壁炉一样，这里是所有社交活动的焦点。

This metal sculpture is not just an art installation, it is a special "table" designed for the space by artist RJ Tripodi, called a "chorus". This installation becomes the “hearth” of the space, a focal point of all social activities.

“戏剧悬浮”

‘Theatrical Levitation’

除了天地墙，用来陈列的家具、灯具、装置均以悬挂的方式置入空间中。来自魔术悬浮术的视觉冲击感，通过拉力方式受力，视觉上也会达到举重若轻的空间感受。吧台上方长7m的C型金属陈列柜，吧台背板上侧悬的金属架系统，长凳背后用皮带悬挂靠垫细节等等，都达到了视觉悬浮效果。

Except for the walls and ceilings, all the displayed furniture, lights, and installations are all suspended in the space. Inspired by the strong visual impact of a magician’s floating performance, the design uses physical tension to lift heavy objects and achieve this conflicting impression. For example: the 7m long C-shaped metal display cabinet, the metal shelving system behind the bar counter, and the belt suspension cushion details on the back of the bench.

位于空间中央的艺术装置桌，挑战了三点共面的受力方式，在结构设计师，艺术家的共同努力下，通过张拉力的原理，在两个索杆上方同时施加4吨预应力，并在地面的一个钢接点固定，将装置紧紧拉住，使得装置的侧向推力位移控制在最小的极限，同时亦可应对极端推力下的突发情况，才能呈现出将如此庞然大物悬浮在空中的戏剧性效果。事实上，异形装置那如同外星生物般的神秘轮廓正是艺术家对这种隐藏的悬浮拉力做的艺术化诠释。

The art installation located in the center of the space challenges the three-point coplanar force method. With the joint efforts of structural designers and artists, through the principle of tension force, 4 tons of pre-stress is simultaneously applied on the two sides of the cable rods, together with a fixed joint on the ground pulling the sculpture tightly so that the lateral thrust displacement is controlled to the minimum limit, as well as under extreme situations. The form of the sculptural table is indeed coming from making an artistic interpretation of the hidden tension force.

“让夜晚变成流动盛宴”

‘Let the night become a light streaming feast’

不同于其他咖啡店营业时间， ad hoC咖啡店配合旭辉天地的整体营业时间，需要营业到晚上10点，所以过了咖啡店营业的黄金时间下午6点，如何通过建筑设计继续引流也变成ad hoC咖啡店设计的挑战，于是一个能切换空间场景的咖啡店出现了。

Different from the opening hours of other coffee shops, ad hoC cafe need to be open until 10 pm in accordance with the overall business hours of Cihui Tiandi. Therefore, after 6 pm when the prime time for coffee shops ends, how to continue to draw traffic through architectural design was a challenge. Thus, FLIP studio proposed a coffee shop that can switch scenes between day and night.

围绕空间焦点——长4m的金属装置桌，白天是熟悉的咖啡场景，入夜之后暖黄色的灯光切换为蓝绿色，摇动黑色镜面前的金属转轮，吊灯缓缓升起，犹如剧场里升起的幕布。

Surrounding the focal point of the space is the metal table sculpture with a length of 4 meters. During the day, it is a familiar coffee scene. After nightfall, the warm yellow light changes to cyan. While rotating the metal wheel in front of the black mirror, glass pendant lights rise slowly, like an opening of a play.

片墙上随即映出万花筒般错综复杂的图案，一场好戏即将登场。

A kaleidoscope-like intricate pattern is projected on the ceiling, and a good show is about to start.

照片中的投影视频由英国艺术家凯林·布瑞克（Celyn Bricke）提供，他根据William Morris作品制作的用AI生成的抽象的镜像图案以模拟Art Deco时期的手工壁画。

The projection video in the photo shoots was provided by British artist Celyn Bricker, who made abstract mirror images generated with AI software based on William Morris's work to simulate handmade murals in the Art Deco period.

此时，流光溢彩的影像，反射在波光粼粼的铜片与马赛克上，围坐在空间中的人们品尝着杯中的咖啡鸡尾酒，吃着小食，沉浸在光影变幻的世界里。装置、光影还有戏中人一起带来了一场流动盛宴。

At this time, the colorful images are reflected on the sparkling copper surface and smooth mosaic marbles. People sitting in the space are sipping coffee cocktails in their glasses, eating snacks, and immersing themselves in the changing world of light and shadow. The installation, light and shadow, and the people in the play brought a light streaming feast together.
