合肥是安徽省的省会城市,是中国最主要的科研和科学基地之一,并将通过滨湖区的国际研究机构推动滨湖科学城的发展。地上建筑面积近9万平方米的滨湖国际科学交流中心是科学城的核心建筑之一,gmp·冯·格康,玛格及合伙人建筑师事务所与中国中元国际工程有限公司组成的设计联合体一举夺魁,中标国际科学交流中心建筑设计。
Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province, is an important center for research and science in China and is driving forward the development of a Science City in Hefei’s Binhu District. The heart of the development will be represented by the Binhu International Science Exchange Center. Architects von Gerkan, Marg and Partners (gmp), together with China IPPR International Enigeering Co., Ltd have won the bidding for this nearly 90,000 square meter conference center.

项目总用地面积达8.6公顷,毗邻由旧机场改造成的骆岗生态公园,享有开阔的公园和湖泊景观。交流中心主体建筑坐落在湖中由三座桥连接的岛上,位置令人瞩目。
The 8.6-hectare development area includes a spacious park and lake landscape to be created as part of the renaturation of a former airport. As the center of the master plan, the conference center is positioned on an island on this lake and is accessed via three wide bridges.

交流中心富有表现力的建筑形象来源于爱因斯坦引力理论的图示,即物体的引力本质上为其周围时空弯曲的表现,而一个球体使一个平面变形的几何图像生成了这一令人印象深刻的建筑外观。

The design of the conference center seeks to visualize Einstein’s theory of gravity, according to which the gravity of very heavy objects causes space-time to bend. The enigmatic and expressive building shape was developed based on the model of a sphere geometrically deforming a plane due to its gravity.

建筑的核心是一座由四组核心筒托举起来的球形会议厅,它被包裹在柱跨45米的正方形空间里,建筑仿佛克服了重力,漂浮在空中。
The spherical volume of the multifunctional hall rests on four cores inscribed in a square field with long cantilevers and 45 m spans between each support, seeming to defy gravity.

向水面阶梯状跌落的裙房里容纳了其余的会议厅,出挑深远的大屋檐下提供了宽敞的室内室外展览和活动空间。在球厅的正下方,一座圆形的多功能中庭连接了上下各层。
The podium is stepped down towards the water and accommodates further meeting rooms as well as generous exhibition and event spaces under its cantilevered roof. The circular foyer positioned centrally under the sphere-shaped volume of the hall creates an impressive multifunctional room connected to all levels.

中庭吊顶、屋面穹顶和球厅内都使用了星轨主题的灯光设计,环形的光带由中心向外脉动,使建筑物的公共区域从远处可见。
The lighting design of the foyer canopy, the hall dome and the vaulted roof reinterpret various astronomical motifs from the starry sky: Light bands following the concentric rings of the roof seem to pulsate outwards, rendering the public areas of the building visible from afar.
