纪达夫先生为凯达环球集团董事局与及亚洲及中东区主席。

曾于英国剑桥大学圣约翰学院修读建筑，于建筑界拥有30年经验。1985年在中国港创立自己的建筑设计师事务所，并在2001年带领事务所发展成为今日的凯达。在纪先生得领导下，凯达发展迅速，现已跻身成为全球第二大建筑设计师事务所，并于全球设有39个办事处。纪先生拥有出众的领导才能及创新思维，其优秀设计亦受到各界广泛赞誉。纪达夫先生致力推广卓越的可持续设计与文化融合的概念，并将之奉为凯达设计宗旨。

ARCHINA：在演讲中，您提到人们的生活改变了，城市也需要根据新的需求来改变，您对未来城市的发展趋势有何见解及观点？

Keith Griffiths：随着我们的生活愈发快捷便利，我们所处的城市也愈加迫切地需要适应我们对于灵活性、多样性以及便利性的诸多新型要求。

人们对于城市活力、效率和连通性有着愈来愈高的要求。当我们因城市的就业、娱乐、居住及社交的多重选择而充分享受城市生活时，不同的人群对于生活方式有着多样的侧重和选择。未来的城市也必将适应并满足我们的这些需求。我预计中国未来城市将通过一系列高密度的城市枢纽来缓解中央商务区（CBD）的压力。选择居住在这些便利的城市枢纽的人群在居住、工作和娱乐上将享有较短的距离，从而降低由通勤而造成的交通压力、污染和时间浪费。在城市枢纽之间的土地将被用于开发建造成为带有公园、社区中心以及教育设施的较低密度的居住社区，供家庭使用。

这些不同类型的建筑其实已然存在于我们的生活之中——综合体、SOHO、loft、悬架公园、公共屋顶平台等等，但我们需要连点成线，在城市中高度连接的区域开发成为生活-工作-休闲综合体。以多层公共空间、悬架公园及连桥作为连接体，我们可以建造引人入胜的三维连接空间，人们在这里可以享受到所有的欢乐选择以及现代城市生活的意外之喜。
 

ARCHINA：您在演讲中提到的智能交通也是智慧城市的一部分，现在大家都在讨论智慧城市，您觉得对于建造智慧城市来说，还有哪些必备的要素？

Keith Griffiths：一座智能城市应该是高密度、充满活力、四通八达且能实现信息智能化的枢纽。首先，它应该是一座考虑到不同文化及生活方式，适应居民各类需求的精心设计的城市。正所谓一城难称百人意，当考虑到21世纪信息智能化的背景下居民的不同需求，我们的城市将会更高效、紧凑而具有可持续性。目前我们尚以上一世纪的标准进行低效的设计。而新的城市将包含满足新型都市生活方式的所有建筑与功能，人们可以步行或乘坐公共交通工具短途旅行，形成一个清洁而便利的可持续发展的城市枢纽。
 

ARCHINA：您提到现在城市里大多数建筑都一样，应根据人们的不同需求来建造。但是中国是人口大国,需求量大，这该怎么解决呢？由于国情不同，您认为怎样在不同的政策和文化下去实现对城市的改造？

Keith Griffiths：中国正在逐步进入到一个更为精细化、复杂性规划和建设的时期。我们在中国涉及的项目范围之广、尺度之大、种类之多，都与中国蓬勃发展的众多大都市中的生活方式与工作方法的巨大转变息息相关。了解并尊重我们为之设计的本地社会及文化需求，这点非常重要。

事实上，我们高度尊重不同文化和群体的社会与环境性差异，并为之着迷。这些差异是经过历史的洗礼逐步演变而来的，也是这个世界独特而精彩的原因。只有当我们先去理解所设计地区的社会文化的细微差别，我们才能根据世界各地不同的社会需求创造出伟大而多样化的设计。
 

AR：Aedas现在在世界范围内已经是建筑界的佼佼者了，未来将会怎样发展去实现Aedas的目标？

Keith Griffiths：Aedas的使命是创造出世界顶尖的设计解决方案，因地制宜地满足全世界不同群体的需求。未来我们将继续利用我们全球的设计专家网络，为我们所服务的地区创造定制化的建筑。对于习近平主席提出的一带一路;的伟大倡议，我相信在未来十年，Aedas将深入参与一带一路沿线乃至整个中国新型可持续性城市与基础设施的开发建设。

ARCHINA：In the speech of TEDFuxingPark , you mentioned the city have to change to according to the new demand with people’s life is changing .Whats your opinion about the tendency of the future development of the city?

Keith Griffiths：

While our entire lives have become faster and more convenient, our cities are havin a hard time adapting to our new demands for flexibility, variety and convenience. 

With the continuous emergence of technologies, city dwellers are demanding for increasing vibrancy, efficiency and connectivity. While we enjoy living in the cities because there are many choices of job, entertainment, housing and community, different people have different priorities and choices of lifestyles. The future cities will adapt and accommodate our needs. I predict that the future cities of China will have new high-density city hubs that alleviate pressure on the CBD. People who choose to live in these convenient city hubs will live, work and recreate within short distances of work and home thus reducing traffic, pollution and time wasted on travel. The land outside the city hubs, on the other hand, will be developed into lower density residential communities with parks, community centres and educational facilities for families.

This mix of different building types required by the new city hubs already exists in our cities – mixed-use complexes, SOHO, loft, elevated parks, public rooftops, but we need to develop live-work-recreate developments in areas of high connectivity across the city. With public spaces at multiple levels, elevated parks and bridge links as connectors, we are going to create exciting three-dimensional, connected spaces wher people can enjoy all the happy choices and serendipity of a modern city life.
 

ARCHINA：Intelligent transportation that you refer to is a part of the smart city , and everyone is talking about the smart city, what else elements is necessary do you think on building the smart city？

Keith Griffiths：

A smart city should be a high-density, buzzy, ultra connected and IT generation hub. Firstly it should be a well designed city that takes account of different cultures, lifestyles and accommodates all the different requirements of our citizens. One size does not fit all. Our cities will be more efficient and compact and sustainable if we take proper account of the bed and different needs of the 21st century IT generation citizen. We are still designing for a 20th century citizen and this is inefficient. The new city will contain all the buildings and functions for our new urban lifestyle that people can walk or take short trips on public transportation, resulting in a clean and convenient sustainable city hub.
 

ARCHINA：You mentioned that most architectures is same,the building should be built based on different requirements,but you know, China is in a large population and great demands. How to work on it?On account of different national conditions, how to achieve the transformation of the city under the diverse policy and culture in your opinion? 
 

Keith Griffiths：

China is entering a period of more considered and sophisticated planning and construction. The scope and scale of design work we carry out for China is huge and varied and is dealing with massive shifts in lifestyle and work methods at the same time as dealing with the growth of these enormous China metropolises. It is important to understand and respect the social and cultural needs of the local community we are designing for.

In fact, the social and environmental differences of different cultures and communities are what we have a fascination and a high regard for. These differences have been cultivated over many years and are the reason that the world is unique and exciting to experience. If we first seek to understand the social and cultural nuances of the communities we design for, we will be able to produce great and diverse designs that are tailored to the needs of communities around the world. 

ARCHINA：On the global scale,Aedas is one of the best in the architectural industry,and how Aedas develop in the future to make the goals come true？

Keith Griffiths：Aedas aims to create world-class bespoke design solutions that are tailored to the needs of communities around the world. In the future, we will continue to leverage on our global network of design experts to create bespoke buildings to the communities we are designing for. In view of the One Belt One Road initiative proposed by President Xi, I believe that in the next decade Aedas will be deeply involved in creating new sustainable cities and infrastructure in China and cities along One Belt One Road.
