CallisonRTKL's 75th Anniversary Celebration will be held on July 29th at the Shanghai office, which is the 20th year of its establishment. While receiving many blessings, we also noticed that many CallisonRTKL lovers couldn't come to the scene. Therefore, we hope to focus on CallisonRTKL's design practice in the fields of retail mixed-use and civic cultural trajectory in this post and spoil you some of the topics that would be discussed at the event.

The early commercial layout of CallisonRTKL covers Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and the cultural public buildings opened at the same time include Shanghai Science and Technology Museum (2001), Xinjiangwan Cultural Center (2005), China Film Museum (2007), and China Science and Technology Museum (2009), etc.

■ 深圳大冲万象天地 | Shenzhen Dachong MixC

了解深圳的过程，就是逐渐熟悉一个引领建筑潮流的成熟社区的过程。全市内的新开发项目，包括大冲万象天地，都具有鲜明特征和当代建筑特点。大冲万象天地的商业和娱乐环境设计不拘一格，其中万象城购物中心产品和活动丰富多样，既有最新奢侈品品牌云集的精品商业街、兼具时尚和文艺气息的购物街，也有历史底蕴深厚的绿色广场。总体而言，这个项目真实再现了深圳特色，通过艺术与科技融合打造社区主流文化影响力，从而塑造一个既充满现代气息，又贴心舒适的工作、生活和娱乐场所。

Trying to understand Shenzhen is the process of getting acquainted with a mature community that leads the architectural trend. New development projects in the city, including Dachong MixC, have distinctive and contemporary architectural features. The design of the commercial and entertainment environment of Dachong MixC is eclectic. Among them, it has a rich variety of products and activities, including a boutique shopping street with the latest luxury brands, boasting both fashion and literary vibe, and historical heritage green space. In general, this project truly reproduces the characteristics of Shenzhen, through the integration of art and technology to create the mainstream cultural influence of the community, thereby creating a modern, intimate and comfortable place for work, life, and entertainment.

■ 西单更新场 | The New

西单更新场是城市开放空间与地下商业空间结合的更新改造项目。设计以城市空间与商业空间、建筑与景观、地上与地下、内部与外部的深度融合，回应城市更新的复杂矛盾，重建场所秩序，重塑场所特征，重新定义城市公共空间。

Xidan Cultural Plaza is a renewal project combining urban open space and underground commercial space. The design implements the close integration of urban space and commercial space, architecture and landscape, ground and underground, interior and exterior to respond to the complex contradictions of urban renewal. Exploring to rebuild the order of the place, reshape the characteristics of the site, and redefine the urban public space in terms of architectural languages.

■ 广州K11 | Guangzhou K11

金色是K11购物艺术中心的主色调，也是K11标志的主色。购物艺术中心的中庭、墙壁和天花板都是柔和的金色，营造出一种奢华而又充满艺术的氛围。购物艺术中心有一个开创性的城市农场，就在商场的中央。农场采用无土栽培技术和自动灌溉系统，并采用LED灯来补充从窗户照射进来的自然光，创造了一个有利的种植环境。室内还装饰有各种榕树和树叶，为当地文化发展搭建了一座桥梁。

Gold is the main color palette of K11 Art Mall as well as the predominant color of K11’s logo. The atrium, walls and ceilings are painted in softly golden hues, cultivating a luxury yet artistic atmosphere. The Art Mall features a groundbreaking urban farm, located in the middle of the mall. The farm uses soli-free cultivation methods, an automatic irrigation system and LED lighting that supplements the natural light from the windows, creating a growth-friendly environment. Various banyan tree and leaf decorations are incorporated into the interior, creating a bridge to the local culture.

随着公司90年代在中国香港登陆后，逐步实现了亚洲大中华区的市场扩展，并于2001年成立了上海办公室。北京办公室也在2010年正式开启运营，成功使得CallisonRTKL的项目足迹遍布亚太地区。

In the 1990s, after the company landed in Hong Kong, it gradually achieved market expansion in Greater Asia, and established the Shanghai office in 2001. The Beijing office also officially started operations in 2010, successfully enabling CallisonRTKL's projects to spread across the Asia-Pacific region.
