里格斯医院地处哥本哈根市中心，是哥本哈根最大的医院。“北翼” 项目是其扩建部分。它的规模为65,200平方米，其中包括手术中心、重症监护中心、门诊部以及200多间病房。
North Wing is the extension to Copenhagen’s largest hospital, Rigshospitalet. With its 65,200 m2 it features more than 200 patient rooms, operating rooms, an intensive care unit and outpatient clinics.
这座扩建的医院建筑紧邻城市的公园与住宅区，我们希望其适应并可以改进原医院与城市空间的关系，我们有意的通过建筑体量的过度来实现这一点，在靠近医院一侧较高，靠近经典哥本哈根风格的住宅区一侧相应的降低，从而形成了从西北向东南递减的趋势。建筑立面采用玻璃和天然轻质石材，为节省能源配备了自遮阳系统。从视觉上看，该立面与该地区的现有建筑相适应，同时还为新医院提供了一个现代的、与众不同的表达方式。
Rigshospitalet is located in a central part of Copenhagen near the park and residential areas. In order to adjust to the surrounding city the North Wing is scaled down from north-west to south-east. This means that the building is higher towards the existing hospital and respectfully lower towards the classic Copenhagen-style, residential blocks across the road. The façade is kept in glass and a natural light stone material and has self-shading features leading to energy savings. Visually the façade adjusts to the existing buildings of the area while still lending a modern and differentiated expression to the new hospital.
新医院大楼秉承着效率优化并使现代医院人性化的原则，通过一个简单而有效的方式建立：一系列折叠的V形结构通过一条贯通的横向走廊连接起来。这种独特的形状为建筑创造了五个休闲中庭的空间，同时也起到了定位和引导作用。中央大道与垂直分布的网格相结合，确保了整体最佳的流线。V形结构提供了功能和单元之间的接近性，从而最大限度地减少了人们的步行距离，提升了医院工作人员的工作条件以及病人的就诊体验。
The principal of Rigshospitalet’s new North Wing is optimising efficiency and humanising the modern day hospital. It builds on a simple yet efficient principle: a series of folded V-structures tied together by a transversal link. This distinctive shape creates five recreational atriums for patients, as well as orientation points in the large hospital. The central link, combined with a vertical distribution grid, ensures optimal logistics and the V-structures provide proximity between functions and units - thus minimizing the walking distances for the hospital staff.

All scales of design are recognized in thisproject. The diagram of the building brings it to life, as an articulation of space in response to the urban environment. The integrity of research regard to extensive range of work flows of different medical specialisms is synthesized into a lucid and intelligent environment. It carefully considers the daily working situations of staff throughout the hospital environment. Coherence with the concept design is fully registered in the final realisation. This building changes perceptions of how hospitals can be experienced by patients and visitors - how the city of Copenhagen will use it - with clear wayfinding and a heightened connection to the outside world and natural light which exemplified excellence in health care. ”

We are delighted that the North Wing of Copenhagen's Gigshospitalet has won first place in the World Architecture Festival's Health Building Awards. The North Wing was completed in 2020 and has already been in operation for one year.
