The design for K8, a dynamic scheme for boosting the city of Stavanger’s ambitions for future urban developments, received final approval from the city council last week. The 16-storey, 15,000-square-metre project will create a new benchmark for sustainable and creative work environments while re-envisioning public space as a generously expanded, densely vegetated garden.

As a vibrant and highly flexible mixed-use complex housing offices, restaurants, cultural institutions, and exhibition and conference spaces, K8’s development draws upon the local architectural heritage, the activity of the neighbourhood, and the pedestrian connections to the city.

Located in thecity’s central business district, K8 is a mixed-use office tower that introduces a new public centre; a transformation of the existing park and a new 16-floor tower containing 15,000m² of highly flexible space for offices, restaurants, exhibitions and conferences. The ground and top floors will be open to the public ensuring a new unique meeting place in the city.

The building is located near Stavanger Central Station on a unique site next to the future "Tivoliparken" which will be an inviting green city park for pedestrians, providing new lines of connections in the surrounding neighbourhood and to the city.

建筑三面可达，主入口朝向公园。建筑首层融入城市肌理，使其成为城市不可分割的一部分。

The building is accessible on 3 of its sides with the main entrance towards the park and a ground floor designed to interweave with the urban fabric guaranteeing it as an integral part of the city.

全新的16层塔楼外观简洁、现代，清晰地展现了斯堪的纳维亚建筑风格，为该地区丰富多样的建筑语言注入了一抹经典的表达。

The new 16-storey tower will stand simple and modern in its form with a clear Scandinavian architectural reference, bringing a timeless expression to the varied building structure in the area.

设计最大程度地优化了用户体验和能源效率。不同高度、朝向的绿植露台，成为了斯塔万格城市新建筑中别具一格的特色。

The building’s design is optimized to the highest degree of user-friendliness and energy efficiency. Green terraces at different heights and orientations bring a distinct recognizable character to this new building in Stavanger.

立面设计将细长的铝板与玻璃相结合，为600多个工位提供了充足的自然采光。

The facade design is a composition of slim vertical aluminium and glass panels which offer increased daylight to over 600 workspaces.

建筑首层和二层的公共功能，围绕一座宽敞的弧形阶梯展开，融合了咖啡、餐厅、员工食堂、大堂、灵活的表演空间，以及多功能展览和活动空间。三层和地下一层将成为场地原有教堂的新址。

The two first floors of the tower will welcome public programs including a café, restaurant, canteen, lobby, flexible performance spaces and multifunctional exhibitions and events space that take place around a large amphitheatre staircase. Floors 3 and underground (U1) will house the church which is currently located on the site.

四至十二层、十四至十五层，开放明亮，拥有360度城市全景的景观视野，将被用作办公空间。

Floor 4 to 12 and 14 to 15 will be used as office space designed to be open and bright, with dramatic 360 views to the city.

K8多功能塔楼将使用节能减排的创新方法，目标获得挪威绿建BREEAM NOR卓越认证，和国际WELL健康建筑金级认证。

K8 introduces innovative ways ofreducing energy consumption and the building’s CO2 footprint, targeting a BREEAM NOR Excellent and WELL Gold certification.

建筑十三层将提供会议设施，而建筑顶层则将带来能够欣赏城市和峡湾美景的餐厅、酒吧及其他公共空间。

The 13th floor will offer conference facilities and the top floor will include restaurants, bars and public space with incredible views to the city and the fjord.
