胡如珊教授，如恩设计研究室创始合伙人

如恩设计研究室创始合伙人胡如珊教授于今年春季被任命为美国宾夕法尼亚大学斯图尔特·⻙茨曼设计学院建筑系系主任，将于2024年春季学期起正式任职。

This spring, Neri&Hu's Founding Partner Professor Rossana Ju-Shan Hu was named as Chair of the Department of Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design, effective spring semester 2024.

宾夕法尼亚大学斯图尔特·⻙茨曼设计学院致力于培养学生通过深入探究、创造表达和创新来回应当代社会文化和环境问题。这个由学者和实践者组成的多元化社区希望通过艺术、设计、规划和保护来促进当地和全球的公共利益。

The mission of the University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design is to prepare students to address complex sociocultural and environmental issues through thoughtful inquiry, creative expression, and innovation. As a diverse community of scholars and practitioners, the school is committed to advancing the public good–both locally and globally–through art, design, planning, and preservation.

斯图尔特·⻙茨曼设计学院院⻓弗里茨·斯坦纳教授表示:“胡如珊教授对设计界的贡献有目共睹。这些成绩的背后，是她对人与材料的深刻理解、对身份认知的深入探索。这一点，对于现今的建筑实践来说尤为重要。”

“Professor Hu has been an incredible champion for design and designers,” says Weitzman Dean and Paley Professor Fritz Steiner. “Her work springs from a deep understanding of people and materials, and a thoughtful exploration of identity that is more important than ever to the practice of architecture.”

继温卡·杜⻉尔丹与阿黛尔·诺德·桑托斯之后，胡如珊成为宾夕法尼亚大学史上第三位女性建筑系系主任。胡如珊说道:“作为建筑师，我们将自己视为过去与现在、个人与集体、公共与私人、乡村与城市之间的调解者。这也是如恩设计研究室在建筑设计中使用的手法之一。宾夕法尼亚大学的师生们也同样致力于这一愿景。我很高兴我们能共同影响建筑的未来。”

Hu will be the third woman to lead the Department of Architecture after Winka Dubbeldam and Adèle Naudé Santos. “We see ourselves as mediators: between past and present, individual and collective, public and private, rural and urban,” says Hu of her firm's approach to architecture. “It's clear that the faculty and students at The University of Pennsylvania are equally committed to this vision. And I am excited to see what we can do together to impact the future of architecture.”

胡如珊曾在哈佛大学设计研究生院、耶鲁大学建筑学院、加州大学伯克利分校和香港大学任教多年，教学成绩斐然。2021年，胡如珊被同济大学任命为建筑与规划学院建筑系系主任。

今年秋季学期结束后，胡如珊在同济大学的建筑系系主任一职将告一段落，但会持续为开拓同济大学建筑学科的国际化与开放性做努力。胡如珊希望能够秉承她在同济大学任职初期的愿景，在不远的未来，为两所院校建立和展开密切的学术对话与交流。

This fall semester will be Hu's last semester as chair at Tongji University. While it is sad to leave such an excellent institution, Hu wishes to continue to support the vision she had started at Tongji University and find future opportunities to establish close ties and exchange programs between the two schools.
