Marriott Penang is a mixed development that comprises Marriott Hotel, Marriott Executive Apartments, and Marriott Residences. Located along Gurney Drive — a popular seafront promenade in Penang’s George Town — the development site is a narrow strip of land facing the sea.

The building is composed of a 10-storey high podium that houses the hotel, its facilities, and a car park; and a tower that rises to 55 storeys. The development will be the tallest residential and hotel tower upon completion along the city’s prime address.

裙楼外立面外覆穿孔金属板，营造渐透效果。临街立面采用较厚的金属板，以阻隔街道噪音；侧立面采用较薄的金属板，以增加停车场通风。同时，穿孔金属板的立面倾斜角度结合建筑需要而律动变化，极富动感、更显深邃。
A perforated metal skin wraps the podium and creates a porosity gradient — starting off as opaque to block off traffic noise on its street fronting face, then revealing more along its sides to facilitate ventilation to the car park. The gradual slanting of the façade’s perforated panels gives it a perceived dynamism and depth, even though the individual pieces remain relatively flat for ease of installation and maintenance.
